Councilmember Sorteberg - Aye <br />Councilmember Cox - Aye <br />Councilmember Schlueter - Aye <br />Acting Mayor Keimann - Abstain <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Reimsnn thanked Council for their support; resigned from his <br />position as councilmember; and accepted the appointment as Mayor. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg declaring <br />council seat vacancy existing in Ramsey; that the vacancy be advertised in the <br />legal newspaper; and that a new councilmember will be appointed at the Special <br />Council meeting scheduled for September 9, 1986. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Re imann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and <br />Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that Mr. Art Dussl is an excellent recommendation but <br />the position of mayor required somebody with awareness of current issues in <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Case ~2: Appearance By Ms. Lonni McCauley Re~ardin~ Anoka County Mediation <br /> <br />Ms. McCauley stated that she is on the Anoka County Mediation Project Task <br />Force. Mediation is an alternative process that takes disputes out of the <br />legal system and works for their resolution in a volunteer situation. In 1981, <br />the State Supreme Court received funds to start mediation projects in <br />Minnesota; dispute resolution centers have been established in Rennepin and <br />Ramsey County. The task force is now trying to establish 3-4 mediation sites <br />in Anoka County. County cities are being requested to contribute $.05/capita <br />towards the project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to table <br />the request for funds supporting the Anoka County Mediation Project program <br />until the next regular Council meeting to allow Council more time to consider <br />the request. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg and Cox. <br />Voting No: Councilmember Schlueter. <br /> <br />Case ~3: l{eceive Feasibility P. eport On Street Improvement Protect {86-21 - <br /> 153 rd Lane h'W From Ramsey Blvd. NW To Rhinestone Street I~W: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution {86-123 accepting the feasibility report for improving 153rd <br />Lane NW from Ramsey Blvd. N.W. to Rhinestone Street N.W. (Please refer to <br />resolution file for Resolution ~86-123). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and <br />Schlueter.
