~EQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERNIT TO OPERATE All EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CE~TE~ IN I~E R-IR ~ESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; CA~E OF CHILDREN OF ROPE EARLY EDUCATION CENTER By; Anne ~orris, Community Development Director Background: Children of ~ope Early Education Center is requesting a conditional use permit to operate an early education center (nursery school) in the R-IR Residential District at 5730 179th Lane I~.W. at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church. The nursery school would be licensed to handle a maximum of 20 children, ages 2-1/2 through 5 years. The school has indicated that they have insurance, will operate as non-profit organization separate from the Church. The nursery school would be a half-day program. Enclosed for your information are the following items: a) Application b) Site location map c) Public hearing notice d) Properties notified e) Proposed findings of fact Observations: The Commission may want to include conditions such as proof of licensing annually to the City, proof of insurance annually to the City, proof of Church approval of the operation, etc. Cross of Hope has a conditional uae permit to operate as a church in a Residential District. However, as this is an expansion of the conditional use, the City Code requires that a conditional use permit be obtained before operation. Recommendation: Cc~mmission Action: Motion to: Adopt Findings of Fact 00__ relating to a request by Children of Hope Early Education Center for a conditional use permit to operate an early education center in the R-IR Residential District. -and- Motion to: Recommend approval of the request by Children of Hope Early Education Center for a conditional use permit to operate an early education oenter in the R-1R Residential District at 5730 179th Lane N.W.
