AFPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to approve <br />the agenda with the following additions: <br /> <br /> Case 4lA: Resignation of Mayor Heitman <br /> <br /> Case 47: Request for a conditional use permit to operate a <br /> manufacturing business in a B-1 Business District; case of <br /> Parabody, Inc. <br /> <br /> Case 48: Request for street improvements to 153rd Lane. <br /> <br /> Case 49: Request for clarification on escrow amount required from <br /> Flintvood Hills III Addition. <br /> <br /> Case 410: Use of DNR funds grauted for flood assistance. <br /> <br /> Case 411: Request to move iua house aud garage; case of Mr. Richard <br /> Stahura. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Votiug Yes: Acting Mayor Reimanu, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br /> Cox and Schlueter. Votiug No: Noue. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />~ gesignation Of Mayor Beitman: <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Reimann announced that Mayor Heitman has moved from Ramsey and <br />resigned as Mayor. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich read a proposed resolution declaring the vacancy and stating <br />charter prescribed procedure for filling the vacancy. Mr. Goodrich stated that <br />the acting mayor serves as mayor until a successor is appointed. <br /> <br />Motion by Counc ilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmemher Cox to adopt <br />Resolution ~86-115 accepting Mayor Heitman's resignation, declaring the vacancy <br />shall be filled according to Charter provisions and that Acting Mayor Reimann <br />shall serve as Mayor during the interim. (Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution ~86-115). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Mayor Reimann, Couucilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Cox and Reimann. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the charter does not specify a time frame for Council <br />to appoint a successor. If there were more than 365 days left in the mayor's <br />term, Council would have to schedule a special election within 90 days; in the <br />case of less than 365 days, the charter is contemplating that a successor will <br />be appointed within 90 days. No special election is required because there is <br />less than 120 days before the next regular election. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg directing <br /> August 12, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
