There is no interest on the City's part <br />to have public access onto the lake. <br /> <br />C~issioner nendriksen asked why the ~addle Club wasn't invited to attend the <br />Park and Recreation Commission's viewing of the area, as they would have been <br />interested. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris and Mr. Peck stated that it was an oversight. <br /> <br />Discussion following between Mr. Peck and Commissioner Hendriksen on private/ <br />public equestrian trails. Nothing was resolved on whether or not to have them. <br />Ms. Norris stated that the Park and Rec Commission is discussing this. Hr. <br />Peck stated that there are 1,250 acres total including about 500 acres of open <br />space. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding items addressed in the City Engineer's letter dated <br />June 17, 1986. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck stated that in Item ~$, Mr. Raatikka states that there are certain <br />lots that do not meet the water frontage and lot width requirement of 200 feet <br />for Natural Environment l~aters regulated by the Shoreland Overlay District <br />Development Standards of the City Code. This was an oversight. A few lake- <br />shore lots may be lost, but it can be dealth with. Mr. Peck stated that he <br />would like to address this problem nov. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zinmerman stated that he would like to see them juggle the lot <br />lines so they would meet the requirements. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that it will be negotiated with the DNR, but the Commission <br />could recommend approval of the preliminary plan with the condition that they <br />meet the width requirements alon~ the lake. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen to continue this case to the next meeting <br />pending compliance with lakeshore frontage requirements and Park and Recreation <br />Commission recommendation. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mr. Peck stated that they have presented enough informa- <br />tion that should warrant some action by the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />tonight, <br /> <br />Mr. Roger Meyer, 7350 -175th Avenue NI~, stated that they have a timetable to <br />meet and would like to keep moving on this. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen stated that there are some deficiencies and pending <br />issues that should be addressed. ~e shouldn't always make concessions. <br /> <br />Mr. Peck stated that they have planned very hard to present this to the City <br />Council on June 24th. The Comnission could make a recommendation to approve <br />with a contingency for lot sizes. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen stated that we very rarely receive plats of over 1,200 <br />acres in Ramsey and we should not act hastily.
