Knudson's access onto Armstrong Blvd. ts a hazardous traffic area already. <br /> <br />fbairman Reterson - Replied that the permitted use applies to the land. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris - Stated that City Staff monitors the cor~itional u~e permit on a <br />routine and oomplaint basis. <br /> <br />Boy lttng - 15355 Eland - ~here have been ntmerous occasions where citizens have <br />oomplained to City Hall about commerci~ vehicles and equipment being stored <br />in residential areas; Staff ser~ls a letter stating equi~ment must be removed; <br />it is removed temporarily to satisfy the City and returned to the property at a <br />later date. <br /> <br />Q~airman Peterson - Noted that in many instances, those violations are by <br />people operating a business without a oor~ditiorml use permit. If Mr. Knudson <br />is granted the permit and disguises violations fr~m City Staff's knowledge, the <br />neigbors can produce evidence to the ~ontrary and Staff will seriously pursue <br />the matter. <br /> <br />Marguerite Henke - 8062 154th - Stated that it is unbelievable that this <br />Commission is oonsidering allowing a cement operation in residential area; that <br />she knows of no residential area in Ramsey where axmmercial trucks are allowed <br />to be stored. With respect to monitoring, City Ball does not do it. Her <br />neighborhood has been fighting with City Hall for t:~o years to get the area <br />cleaned up of tow trucks, junk cars, sodding equilm~ent, etc.; in 2 years, the <br />City has not even succeeded in get a gas stove removed from a driveway. <br /> <br />~airman Peterson - Stated that enforcing the zoning ordinance has been an on- <br />going difficult ~_~k for Council and City Staff; suggest that residents <br />conoerned with this issue run for Council ar~ proceed to get the problem taken <br />care of. <br /> <br />Mr. Nielson - Noted that this is not a big oement operation with large trucks; <br />the largest truck is a 2 ton; suggested (Dnoerr~ residents view Mr. Knudson's <br />property in a heavily developed residential area of Andover where his business <br />has been located for 12 years with no problems. Mr. Nielson noted that Mr. <br />Knudson's business was grandfathered in at the Andover location and he is not <br />required to have a oor~litional use permit from that city. <br /> <br />Mr. Volkman - Inquired if Mr. Knudson is moving his business to Ramsey for <br />convenience purposes because of his residential developnent proceeding on the <br />other side of Armstrong Blvd. <br /> <br />Mr. Nielson - Replied that Mr. Knudson constructs hundreds of basements per <br />year and would not go to the expense to move his business and home just for the <br />4 h(~nes he is in the process of developing on the other side of Armstrong. <br /> <br />Karri Anderson - 15425 Eland - Stated her home is directly across Armstrong <br />Blvd. from Mr. Knudson's pole building and she is ooncerr~ about traffic on <br />Armstrong. <br /> <br />Mr. Knudson - Stated that he will have a wide driveway south of the pole <br />building and ingressing and egressing onto Armstrong should not be a problem. <br /> February 4, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
