Senator MoQuaid's proposed legisatton dealing with liability and tnsuranoe situations surrounding goverr~nent and stated that there is no question that any one citizen or the city as a whole would benefit from lowering insuranoe rates. Motion by Councilmenber Cox and seconded by Councilmenber $orteberg directing City Staff to contact Senator MoOuaid and indicate to her Ramsey's support of her proposed legislation regarding liability and insurance situations surrounding goverr~ent. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Bei~man, Councilm~nbers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and Schl~eter. Voting No: None. Councilmember COx asked Mayor Bei~an for a report on the Northern Mayors Meeting held on February 20. Mayor Beitman replied that he did not attend the Mayors Meeting. Councilme~ber COx stated that he recalls an agreement being made ~mong Council that if the Mayor was not able to attend certain meetings, he should make arrangements for the City to be represented in his place. Motion by Councilm~mber Cox and seconded by Councilmemk~r Reimann that in the event the Mayor is unable to attend oertain meetings at which Ramsey should be represented, he should make appropriate arrangements for Ramsey's representation. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hei~an, Councilme~bers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. Motion by Councilm~mber Reimann and seconded by Mayor Bei~an to adjourn this regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor ~eitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, Reimann and Sc~hlueter.
