PROJBCT DESCRIPTIO~ A~D COST BSTIMATES
RIVER'S B~ND
CIT~ OF

River's Bend Park is a 6~.4 acre park vhich is located in the
southeast corner of Ramsey east of State Highway 47 in an oxbow
of the Rum River. The park is located in the flood plain of the
Rum River and was donated to the City by developers. Part of the
park is designated to be used for the construction and completion
of County Road 116 across the Rum River.

The City is planning to develop River's Bend Park as a multiple
uses community park facility. Active uses such as athletic
fields, picnic areas and a picnic shelter are to be located ou
the northern portion of the park. The southern portion of the
park is presently open field and part o£ it is proposed to be
developed as native prairie. In addition, the southern portion
of the park viii be developed with some relatively passive uses
such as mixed use, multiple season trails, a picnic area, and a
canoe access to the Rum River. In the City's Comprehensive Park
and Open Space Plan adopted in 1980, parks with athletic areas
were noted as a high priority need for the City.

This application is for the development of athletic fields (two
ball fields and one multiple purpose field) on the northern
portion of River's Bend Park. These fields will encourage the
use of the park by the general public. As Ramsey has a growing,
relatively young population, the City has a high demand for
athletic fields for multiple uses.

The cost breakdowns for the proposed improvements are as follows:

Ag lime for two ball fields
Excavation and embankment -
multiple purpose field
Design, Admin. & Conting.

6,000.00

15,000.00
4,200.00

TOTAL $ 25,200.00
