TO: Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission

FROM: Ramsey City Staff

RE: Park Board Business

Enclosure (D2-a) Regulations for preliminary application for
Fiscal Year 1987 LAWCON/LCMR funds

(D2-b) Results of "Goal Setting - Planning for the
Future" special workshop of March 6, 1986

CASE #1: AoDaaranne .by :Glep_:~_ar.~~,.~Lm~~~~~
Economic I~vm]or~ant Company:

Glen Hardin, President of the Ramsey Economic
Development Company, would like to discuss the Company
with the Commission. Exhibit A contains a letter from
Mr. Hardin and a brochure on Ramsey. The brochure was
a joint effort by the Ramsey Economic Development
Commission and the Ramsey Economic Development Company.

Co~issian Action:

No Commission action is necessary at this time.

CASE #2: Desiccation o.f_ Rearaa~ioq,, Trail_ in ~rikical .R~.D
Corridor:

As you may recall, last year the City Council adopted the
Environmental Protection Ordinance. This ordinance was
mandated by the Department of Natural Resources and
regulates the development of designated shorelands and
property along the Mississippi River (within the
Critical Rivers district). Part of the ordinance
requires the City to designate a recreational trail
corridor along the Missippi River. Designation of this
trail corridor does ~ require the City to acquire
the necessary right-of-way and construct the trail; it
is to ensure that trail right-of-way will be required
and acquired as the property along the river develops.

Staff has proposed a corridor for this trail; a map
showing this will be available at the meeting.

C~mmi~sion ~ction:
