CASE ~2: <br /> <br />INFORMATION REGARDING 1987 PARK AND RECREATION BUDGET <br /> By: Anne L. Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At your last Commission meeting, you requested information re- <br />garding 1987 funds for park and recreation. <br /> <br />The 1987 budget request for park funds included a request that <br />$50,000 be transferred from the Landfill Trust Fund to be used <br />for park improvements. This request was not approved. <br /> <br />Park Funds are accounted for in the two sections of the budget. <br />The operating expenses for park and recreation activities are <br />included in the general fund. Revenues from park dedication fees <br />are deposited in the Park Improvement Trust Fund. These funds <br />can be used for park acquisition or development. The balance of <br />this fund is approximately $120,000. <br /> <br />For your information, attached are the following items: <br /> <br />a) Pages 61-62 of the 1 987 Budget approved by the City <br />Council for Park and Recreation operating expenses and <br />capital outlays. <br /> <br />b) Pages 55 and 78 from the City's 1985 Financial State- <br />ment - The total of the "Unreserved-Undesignated fund <br />balances (circled) under Park Fund is the amount available <br />for Park development in the Park Improvement Trust Fund° <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Your action will be based on your discussion. <br /> <br /> <br />
