Members Present: Mayor Gary Heitman Councilmamber Jean Schlueter Councilm~-~ber Gary Reimann Councilm~mber Arnie Cox Councilme~er A1 Sorteberg Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg City Attorney Goodrich (arrived 7:41 p.m.) Larry Koshak of Haka_nson/Anderson Engineering Reporter Angela Flint CAt.t, TO O~DER Mayor Heitman called the public bearing to order at 7:17 p.m. .pRES~ATI~BY ENGINEER Mr. Larry Koshak gave a slide presentation of Sea/coating Improv~,ent Project t85-4 shc~ing the affected area and estimated total and per unit costs. Mayor Heitman noted that aco~rding to City Charter, Council cannot take any action on improv~ent projects until 60 days following the public hearing. Bill Ayers - 7210 161st Lane - Stated that there is s~me street deterioration in his project area that should be repaired prior to seatooating. Mr. Koshak replied that the City Streets Department is responsible for necessary patching and filling repairs prior to sea/coating. Mr. Schnelle stated that if the repairs are too major, the City will authorize the contractor to make the repairs. T~u Dahlen - 6621 156th Avenue - Inquired if the City puts out for competitive bids on sealooating projects. Mr. Koshak replied that the City follows State statute - the project is advertised in the newspapers and construction bullentins and bids are received at City Ball; the bids are then presented to Council for award recommendation.
