Councilmenber Cox stated that he doesn~ t think the Park Ccm~ss~on is keeping up to date on th~ngs! they must not even know that there is a city newsletter because they didn't know who has been donating labor and equii~ent at River's Bend Park and that was all published in the r~wsletter. Oouncilmeabr Oox stated that this (Duncil will have to be res~ons/ble and make a decision. Mayor Heitman pointed out that ~ouncil has already been acc%%sed of not taking the recam~tions of other City ammissions. Mayor Hei~man stated that he is not opposed to the development of River's Bend Park but he would prefer to take action after a recommendation has been received frcm Park and Recreation 00~ission. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Oouncilmembers Sorteberg, (Dx and Reimann. Voting No: Mayor Beitman and Councilm~mber Schlueter. c) Letter Dated June 13. 1985 From Chief Accountant Haapala Regardin_a Cou~lcilmember Cox's R _equest For Check Authorization On June 13. 1985 - Mayor Heitman stated that during this evenings Council recess he was provided with a copy of a letter fza~ ~hief Accountant Baapala dated June 13, 1985. ~hat letter outlines the course of e~ents on June 13 when Councilmenber Cox approached S~ff for a check authorization to purchase a boat and trailer to be raffled at the ~ty Park l~stivsl. ~he letter also has a bar~ritten notation on it that says a check was issued and (k)un~r Oox directed Mr. Bob Muller to return it to City HaLl; this conflicts with (bun~r Oox's earlier statements made during Citizen Input regarding his never having received a check for the boat and trailr. Mayor Heitman requested that the letter be entered into the record. (See Attac~m~Jfc I). Motion b] Coun~Zm~ber Reimann and seconded by ~yor Heitman to ad~ou~n this regular meeting of He City Comcii. Further Discussion: Councilmenber COx referred to Item (c) un~r ~ayor/Comcil In, ut and d~nied that he e~er told Mr. Muller to return the check to City Hall. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Gox, Sorteberg, Reimann and Schlueter.
