Candidates for the Anoka COunlty Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors I JEAN RACUTT JOSEPH SLOAN IJean was born In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, She has been a resident of Coon Rapids for 19 years. Jean is married and has ifour children and three grandchildren. She is a member of Olive Branch Lutheran Church. Lean graduated from high school in ilwaukee and attended the University of Wisconsin and Anoka-Ramsey Community ICollege. Jean is a partner in Park Golf Supply iCompany, was employed with the City of Coon Rapids from 1969-72 in the Finance Department, was an office manager with Columbia Park Clinic from 1961-64 and Ii966-69, and with the St. employed was Cloud Medical Group, St. Cloud, MN from 1958-62. IJean's community activities include: Member of the Charter Commission for ithe City of Coon Rapids, Member of the City of Coon Rapids Budget Subcommittee, I~olling in 1980 and City of Coon Rapids ! Budget Subcommittee-Public Safety in 1984, was Chairwoman of the Women's Classic Golf iTournament for the City of Coon Rapids Silver Anniversary in 1984, and is a member of the Coon Rapids Womeo6JFederated Club, American Legion, VFW, and Coon Rapids I IEconomic Development Company. Jean was a political candidate for the I ~Minnesota House of Representatives in 1984 for House District #49 (Coon Rapids), was Chairwoman of U.S. Senator Dave ivDUrenberger's "Outreach Committee" in the ixth Congressional District, and has held arious offices in the I.R. party from irecinct Chairwoman to Vice Chairwoman f the 5ixLi, Congressional District. Joe has been the general manager of the Anoka Electric Cooperative since September, 1979. Anoka Electric Cooperative provides electric service to 53,000 consumers in Anoka and adjoining counties. Joe is presently a member of the Anoka Kiwanis Club and an elder in the Brooklyn Center Church of Christ. He is a former director of the Anoka A~ea Chamber of Commerce. P~ior to moving to Minnesota, Joe worked on the staff of an electric Co-op in Tennessee for 20 years, during which time he served as chairman of the county school board and president of several civic organi- zations, including the United Way. Joe sei'vedIfour years in the U.S. Air Force and 18 years in the Air National Guard, retiring with the rank of Lt. Col. He has a B.S. degree in mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University, and a M.S. degree in physics from Vanderbilt University. He has been married for 28 years and is the father of four grown children.
