I
!
I

Mr. Ainars Silas

INVESTMENT CASTING:

I
!
I
I
I
'1
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
!
I

14310 SUNFISH LAKE BLVD., ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 612/427-3181
During the interim period while these determinations are being made the
sodium hydroxide drums will be covered with a canvas to minimize
potential for rain water entering tile drums. This method of handling the
sodium hydroxide waste was discussed via telephone conversation between
our consultant Mr. William A. O'Connor of PACE Laboratories, Inc. and Mr.
Ainars Sills of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Once all hazardous waste are place into DOT approved containers they will
be properly marked, labelled and sealed.

The waste currently stored on-site at Waltek, Inc. represents an
accumulation in excess of five years.. Once proper arrangements for
off-site disposal of these wastes have been made, relatively small
volumes of hazardous waste will be generated on a monthly basis. It is
anticipated that these wastes may be stored indoors or facility
modifications will be implemented for outdoor storage of the wastes in
order to comply with Minnesota Rules, Part 7045.0292. A final
determination for the selection of a storage site will be made after
disposal of all current on-site waste.

Item 3 - Waltek, Inc. will take appropriate actions to provide adequate
spill 'control equipment for all hazardous waste generated at our site.
The spill control equipment will be strategically placed to allow for an
immediate response in the event of a release or spill of hazardous waste.

Item 4 - Waltek, Inc. will conduct an inventory of all wastestreams
generated at our site. Each waste will be evaluated using either soft
data or performing analyses on the wastes to determine if it is hazardous
or non-hazardous. In addition representative samples of process
wastewaters discharged to our drain field will also be collected and
analyzed to determine if they are hazardous or non-hazardous and to
determine if their release resulted in any adverse impact on soil and
ground~ater.

Item 5 - Wa'itek, Inc. will develop and provide examples to the Minnesota
~ion Control Agency of preparedness and prevention plans,
contingency plans, emergency procedures and personnel training programs
for handling hazardous wastes.

Item 6 - Upon completion of the evaluation of all wastestreams generated
at Waltek, Inc. we will complete the Anoka County Hazardous Waste License
Application form and will forward copies to I,lr. David Harman of Anoka
County and to the Minnesota Pollution Agency.

!tcm;~ 7 - Off-site shipl:~ent of l~azardous wasses :l~ill net occur at
Inc. until we nave obtained an EPA generator's identification number,
completed our evaluation of wastestreams and obtained permits with
pernlitted h~zardous waste disposal facility for their dispose1, pre~ared
and executed hazardous waste manifests an~t submitted and received

-~,.:.r~ .... ,','~1 ,';f ,~;;'~ .....
