I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Council ~ecessed at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~an called the meeting back to order at 9:35 p.m. <br /> <br /> p~ Consideration Of The Use Of A Consent _Agenda: <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that a oonsent agenda is a method of <br />speeding up council meetings and inelt_~les those routine case items that do <br />not r~qulre discussion. O~e motion will appr~e all case items on the <br />consent agenda; that ~otion Gan also delete a case(s) frc~ the consent <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Cox stated that he thinks the consent agenda often times <br />puts the council ~eeting audience in a position of not knc~ing what is <br />being acted on and it does not give ~xoper respect to all issues. Council- <br />~ber Oox stated that Council o0ming to the meeting prepared to act would <br />speed up the meeting. Resolution waiving did al~ up the lxocess but that <br />has been resolved. ~he Mayor's reading of each case introduction is also <br />time cons~ing. <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~an agreed and stated that his reading of the case introduction <br />is an effort to enlighten the audience as to what is up for discussion and <br />action. <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~an stated that he would like Mr. Sdm-m. lle and City Attorr~y <br />Goodrich to prepare a list of case types in Remsey that could typically <br />be placed on a consent age~ and suh~it it to Council for discussion. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Re/mann stated that Council members should co~e to the <br />meetings prepared to act and any case discussion should be brought about <br />by way of a motion. <br /> <br />Recall ~etitions For Gounc/lmembers COx. Sorteberg and <br /> <br />Motion by Gouncil~ber Schlueter and seconded by Mayor ~eitman to receive <br />the recall petitions for Councilm~mbers Arnold COx, Allen Sorteberg and <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Schnelle stated that it is not necessary to <br />receive the petitions by ~otion. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Schlueter withdrew her motion and Mayor Heitman withdrew his <br />second to the motion. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Oouncil noted receipt of recall petitions for Comcil~bers Arnold COx, <br />Allen Sorteberg and Gary Reimann. <br /> <br />~ Request For Off-Sale Li_ouor License: Case Of Mr. George WilcoK; <br /> <br />Council unanimously waived the reading of the resolution. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />September 10, 1985 <br />Page 7 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
