Review the philosophy and goals of community education. <br />2. Review the program and funding of the Ramsey Community School operation. <br />3. Review the scope and status of related programs and services available to the <br /> Ramsey Community to include senior citizens, park board, RYAA, Anoka- <br /> Ramsey Community College, and other related programs and services. <br />4. Based on the above review, identify issues or areas to be addressed. <br />5. Based on a review of the issues to identify recommendations. <br />6. The final step is to build a budget that would incorporate the recommendations. <br /> <br />ISSU ES/OBJECTIVES: <br /> <br />The following issues were identified by the task force: <br /> <br /> 1. Identify the role and scope of the youth program (preschool through grade six). <br /> 2. Identify the role and direction of the teen program. <br /> 3. Identify the role and scope of the adult program. <br /> 4. Identify the role of community school operation with regard to working with the <br /> park board. <br /> 5. Identify the role of community school with regard to working with the Ramsey <br /> Youth Athletic Association and the Anoka Area Hockey Association. <br /> 6. Identify the role and responsibilities for scheduling and coordination of city <br /> facilities. <br /> 7. Identify the role and responsibility to work with senior citizens. <br /> 8. Identify the role of Key Communicator/Crime Vandalism Program. <br /> 9. Identify the relationship of the community school program to service <br /> organizations (Lions and Jaycees) and youth groups and organizations (Boy <br /> Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, etc.). <br />10. Determine a funding plan. <br />11. Explore the need for a Latch Key program. <br />12. Determine the need to explore the chemical awareness program. <br />13. Explore the relationship of community school program to the day school <br /> program. . <br /> <br />In order to address the above issues, the task force felt that following information would <br />be needed: <br /> <br />1. Class enrollments in each age group <br />2. Cost of the program over the past four years <br />3. Summary of the teen programs available to the Ramsey students at Fred Moore <br />4. Identify the scope of the fifth and sixth grade program at Sandburg <br />5. Identify a number of students that attend private schools in Ramsey <br />6. Identify the number of teens in the city of Ramsey <br />?. Ident~ify the number of adults that participate in the community school program <br /> in Anoka, Coon Rapids, Champlin, Anoka-Ramsey, and AVTI programs <br />8. Examine the possibility to cooperate with Elk River Community Education <br /> Department : <br />9. Identify how the park board operates in terms of where they report to, what they <br /> do, who advises them, and how does the community school program fit in. <br /> <br />2of5 <br /> <br /> <br />
