Even <br />with subsequent increases made by the City on commercial property, the City <br />is still 8.9% behind what Marshall/Swift is recommending. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg suggested that the increase be left at or below the <br />rate of inflation. <br /> <br />Mr. Arnie Cox - Stated that Ramsey commercial property should not be <br />compared to that property located in prime areas of the 7 county metro <br />area. Ramsey needs all the tax base it can get and we continue to stretch <br />the burden onto our commercial properties who are operating at a severe tax <br />disadvantage because they are expected to be taxed comparable to those in <br />prime areas with no consideration given to depressed sales and business <br />viability. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he feels that a 5% increase would be the maximum he <br />would go for. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />table this issue until Council meeting scheduled for November 27, 1984 and <br />that Mr. Wirz provide Council with written input regarding this matter of <br />co~nercial property valuation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilme~nber Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve the agenda and addendum to the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Rum River Hills P,U.D, Regarding Request For Increase In <br /> Dgnsity By_ Developer: <br /> <br />Council consensus was to dispense with the reading of the proposed <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adopt Resolution #84-224 which recommends that the (3) additional <br />residential lots to the Rum River Hills P.U.D. is consistent with the <br />City's Comprehensive Plan for the rural area residential zoning. (Please <br />refer to resolution file for Resolution #84-224). <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Schlueter inquired if Mr. Ryan at Metro <br />Council has reviewed the propsed density change of 1 in 10 acres to 1 in 6- <br />1/2 acres. Mr. Schnelle replied that Mr. Ryan is no longer at Metro <br />Council but the plans will be hand delivered to the Metro Council tomorrow. <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that she has negative feelings; intent of <br /> <br />Page 6 of 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
