! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Request By Girl Scouts To Decorate Tree In Lobby Of Municipal <br /> ~enter: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />approve of the Girl Scounts' request to decorate a tree in the lobby of the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center and use this as a drop-off center for food donations <br />and toys for needy families in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. James Battenberg Regarding Drainage Problems: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that any solution to Mr. Battenberg's drainage problem will <br />require a public hearing; with regards to the saleability of the property as <br />it currently exists, even with the encroaching water the lot is a lot of <br />record and legally Mr. Battenberg can sell the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Battenberg stated that legally he only owns half of his lot now because <br />the encroaching water is part of a body of water under DNR jurisdiction. <br />Mr. Battenberg suggested deeding half of his property back to the City and the <br />City granting him a variance to a 1/2 acre home site. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />direct the City Engineer to prepare an inexpensive feasibility study regarding <br />solutions to the drainage probl~s, including dredging to the south, at the <br />residence of Mr. James Battenberg, 7471 150th Lane. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec informed Mr. Battenberg that the feasibility should be ready for <br />Council review at the regular meeting scheduled for December 11, 1984. <br /> <br />QOUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Q~ Rea__ppointment Of Park And Recreation Commission Members: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />reappoint the following Park and Recreation Commission members to the <br />Commission for a three year term which will expire October 31, 1987: <br /> <br />Mr. William Rustad <br />Ms. Janice Johnson <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Appointment of Park And Recreation Commission Member: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Sorteber9 to <br />appoint Ms. Marleen Looyen of 16685 Garnet Street NW to the Park and <br />Recreation Con~ission to fill the expired term of Mr. Terry McLean.
