3) Official Map Board of Appeals <br /> <br />City Admiuistrator Norman explained staff would like direction from the Council regarding the <br />Official Map Board of Appeals. This board would address cases when the City Council denies a <br />site plan and the applicant still desires to proceed with their development plan. There are several <br />points related to the creation o£the board, which are: <br /> <br />How many members should serve on the board? <br />Should there be a Planning Commission representation on the board? <br />Does the City Council want to advertise in the Ramsey Resident for potential <br />candidates to serve on the board? <br /> <br />The consensus of the Council was that five members should sit on the Official Map Board of <br />Appeals, to request that Chair Nixt of the Planning Commission head the Board of Appeals, and <br />to advertise in the Ramsey Resident for interested parties to be interviewed by the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted there may also be qualified individuals outside of Ramsey that would be <br />objective in sitting on this Board. <br /> <br />4) Trausportation Issues <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman indicated recently the Council has authorized continuation in <br />working with The Tinklenberg Group. Staff has good things to say about The Tinklenberg <br />Group, and also has good things to say about Leonard Levine, a consultant used in the past. Mr. <br />Levine has written a letter to be passed on to the Council that touches on the projects he has <br />worked with the City on in the past. He is asking for a continuation of his work with the City. <br /> <br />There was discussion regarding Mr. Levine's past work with the City, and that The Tinklenberg <br />Group is working well with the City at this time. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stressed that he has been happy working with Mr. Levine in the past. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen inquired if there is a piece of the issues that are not committed to The <br />Tinklenberg Group that Mr. Levine could work on. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak suggested Mr. Levine be retained to be called on when needed for <br />networking type of work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig suggested they may be a synergy that could be worked out with The <br />Tinklenberg Group and Mr. Levine. <br /> <br />The COllSellsus of the Council was to direct staff to discuss the City's transportation issues with <br />The Tinklenberg Group and Mr. Lev/ne to determine if there would be a fit between the two <br />groups, with the expectations of the City made clear. <br /> <br />5) Rural Developing Ordinance <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/June 1, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
