! <br /> I <br />:1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor C~mec called for a roll call vote. <br /> <br />Oouncilmember Schlueter - Aye <br />Councilmember Reimann- Naye <br />Mayor Gamec - Aye <br />Councilm~r Van Wagner - Aye <br />Oouncilm~r Sorteberg - Naye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that it should be noted, for the record, that <br />both m~mbers of the Personnel Committee voted against the previous motion; <br />this issue should have been returned to the Personnel Committee for their <br />final recommendation; two of the 'aye' votes were from (buncilmembers that are <br />leaving office and do not have to live with the action they took on this case. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that he lives and pay taxes in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Health Insurance- <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that with the increase in wages the employees <br />just received, they should be able to pick up the increase in health insurance <br />oosts out of their salaries. Sc~e people feel they need benefit increases in <br />addition to raises and some people on the outside world, that don't have a <br />job, have to pay for these increases in wages and benefits to City employees. <br /> <br />Motion by Oouncilmember Van Wagner and seoonded by Gouncil~r Reimann that <br />the City's share for health insurance remain at $140.00 for all persons <br />oovered by the City's insurance plan. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that the employees were led to believe, during negotiations, <br />that they were going to receive a $10.00 increase in health insurance. <br /> <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Reimarm stated that the Personnel C~,.~dttee did not promise <br />anybody anything; the Personnel Committee is a recommending body to Council <br />and is not in a position to make promises. <br /> <br />Mr. Berg stated that he said 'led to believe', not 'promised'. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor G~nec replied that every aspect of City business ~s a recommendation <br />until Council _makes the final decision. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />S~hluete and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Sick Leave - <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmmber Beimann that <br />the 1985 Personnel Ommittee review City Ordinance pertaining to sick leave. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
