Bqard: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember (Dx to appoint <br />Mayor Heitman to serve on the Ramsey Landfill Board until December 31, 1985. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heihuan, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />_Conveyance Of Outlots In Rum River Hills P.U.DJ From ~e £itv Of Ramsev <br /> <br />Council noted the proposed ordinance which provides for the oonveyance by the <br />City of Ramsey to Rum River Hills, Inc. of Outlots A, B, D and E to be used <br />for a public golf course. <br /> <br />C. Ecor~Mic Develo_m!~__n_t Comm~ssion Goals Statement: <br /> <br />Council noted receiving memo from Economic Development Con~nission regarding <br />their goal statement. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that it is his hope that Council and the various <br />con, nissions can work together towards a conmx)n goal; recommendations from <br />these con, missions are seriously considered but the Council needs to know <br />whether or not the goals of the various oonm~issions correspond with the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. Mayor Heitman stated that the statement received from the <br />Economic Development Commission simply doesn't cover any of this. Mayor <br />Heitman stated that he anticipates this to be a long term process but hopes <br />significant progress can be made in less than a year. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he is not understanding what Mayor Heitman is <br />looking for. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman suggested that Counciln~nber Cox read the minutes. <br /> <br />Councilammber Cox stated that reading the minutes and .contacting cox~ission <br />members would bring Mayor Heitman up to date on the various commissions. <br />Councilm~mber Cox stated that he doesn't know of any commission, other than <br />one, that has not been working towards a con~on goal for the City. ~hese <br />commissions should be taken seriously. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman inquired if Councilnmmber Cox is implying that he doesn't take <br />the Cor~nissions seriously and stated that it is obvious what he is requesting <br />of the Commissions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox inquired in what way the Economic Develoguent Con~ission <br />goals statement doesn't answer Mayor Heitman's request. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman replied that the Economic Commission statement is a paragraph, <br />it doesn't say if the Commission goals correspond to the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Mayor Heitman stated it is the responsibility of the Commissions to carry out <br />goals that correspond to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that it is Council's responsibility to see that the <br /> February 12, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 12 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
