Gouncilm~nber Cox stated that he doesn't think the Park Commission is keeping up to date on things; they must not even knc~ that there is a City newsletter because they didn't know who has been donating labor and equipment at River's Bend Park and that was all published in the newsletter. Oouncilm~mbr Gox stated that this Council will have to be responsible and make a decision. Mayor Hei~man pointed out that Council has already been accused of not taking the recommendations of other City co~missions. Mayor Hei~an stated that he is not opposed to the development of River's Bend Park but he would prefer to take action after a reoommendation has been received from Park and Recreation Ommmission. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilm~mbers Sorteberg, Cox and Reimann. Voting No: Mayor Hei~man and Councilm~mber $chlueter. c) Letter Dated June 13. 1985 From Chief Accountant Haapala Reg_ardin_~ Councilmember Cox's Request For Check Authorization On June 13. 1982 - Mayor Heitman stated that during this evenings Council recess he was provided with a copy of a letter from Chief Accountant Haapala dated June 13, 1985. That letter outlines the oourse of events on June 13 when Gouncilmember Cox approached Staff for a check authorization to purchase a boat and trailer to be raffled at the (k~m~ty Park Festival. ~e letter also has a handwritten notation on it that says a check was issued and Councilmember Oox directed Mr. Bob Muller to return it to City Hall; this conflicts with Councilm~ber Cox's earlier statements made during Citizen Input regarding his never having reoeived a check for the boat and trailr. Mayor Hei~an r~quested that the letter be entered into the record. (See Attachment I). Motion by Counci~r Reimann and seconded by Mayor Hei~man to adjourn this regular meeting of the City Council. Further Discussion: Councilm~mber (Dx referred to Item (c) under Mayor/Council Input and denied that he ever told Mr, Muller to return the check to City Hall. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Gouncilmembers Gox, Sorteberg, Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None.
