One councilman complained about paying for a bottle of aspirin and the same night approved a $5,000 computer study. One councilman continually harps about our Charter during council meetings when he knows perfectly well that he can approach the Charter Commission with suggested changes or put on his tennis shoes and carry a petition. The same councilperson thinks he has the right to add agenda items the night of the meeting and have all his items discussed while other people have to wait their turn. All three of these councilpersons signed the now famous June 30th letter approving Mr. Gilbertson's request and now we have one councilman, who has been Acting Mayor of Ramsey for several years, claiming he thought he was signing for a meeting. On top of everything else, Ramsey's goverr~ent was severely criticized for that meeting. A coUY of that editorial is enclosed. Ms. Beale stated that several people have called her this week and said that Ramsey's Council behavior is becoming too much. Ms. Beale stated that in reviewing her above list, she would have to say that it appears some councilme~bers feel they have more rights and less obligations than the rest of the citizens. MS. Beale referred to an editorial in the Anoka Union which was very critical of Ramsey's goverm~ent. Douglas Fountain - 15255 Garnet - Stated that in April there was a fire in the northeast corner of the landfLll that destroyed one acre of trees and grass. On Memorial weekend, there was $6,000 worth of damage done to Waste Management's diesel equipment and the methane punp house. On the 4th of July there was vandali~ to electrical equipment at the methane pu~p. Mr. Fountain stated that he and Mr. John Studer are pleased to see that Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. has begun to fence in that north 80 acres. Mr. Fountain stated that 6 of the 9 individuals on Garnet Street would like to express their appreciation for Waste Mangement's action by co~itting $25.00 each to a reward fund to be p~id to individuals providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals. Mr. Fountain stated that he has talked to Mr. Terry Miller of Waste Management and he indicated that Waste Mangement would be matching those funds raised by the citizens.
