CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Mayor and Council Salaries <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In response to a request by members of the City Council, at the May 18, 2004 Work Session, the <br />Assistant City Administrator presented information regarding current compensation for mayors and <br />council nacmbers in other cities. It was the consensus of the City Council that staff should bring <br />back mi ordinance proposing a salary increase for the Mayor and Council Members in the amounts <br />orS10,000 and $6,000, respectively. <br /> <br />Dm'lng the Introduction of the ordinance to increase salaries for the Mayor and City Council at the <br />,lune 22, 2004 City Cotmcil meeting, the City Council voted to amend the ordinance to reflect that <br />the salary for Council Members would remain the same and the Mayor's salary would be increased <br />to $10,000.
