Council should deal with issues and not personalities <br />and encourage that the oooperation demonstrated at tonight's meeting continues <br />in the future. <br /> <br />Mayor Hei~an referred to a m~mo dated September 6, 1985 frc~ Mr. Ma~issen to <br />Mayor and Council regarding use of City truck for hauling free food for needy <br />f~ilies to the Senior Oenter at George Green Park several times a year. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilme~ber (bx and seconded by Gouncilme~ber Reimann approving Mr. <br />Mevissen's request to use City truck and neoessary fuel to deliver food for <br />r~-cdy f~ilies to the distribution site at various times during the year. <br /> <br />Further Discussion'. Mr. Goodrich stated that the truck is City equil~ent and <br />the City is liable even when that equil~ent is being used for a charitable <br />errand. Councilmember Re/mann requested that Mr. Mevissen keep a log of <br />mileage ar~ fuel used on these charitable errands. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Bei~an, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Votig No.- None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle stated that there will be a meeting with Relxesentatives Hartinger <br />and Schrieber on September 18, 1985 at 11:00 a.m. in Roc~ 543 of the State <br />Offioe Building to discuss fiscal disparity, lxoperty tax and local aids. <br /> <br />Mr. ~le referred to the develol~ent proposed in Blo~ingto~ by the <br />Ghermezian'Brothers and stated that there has been some discussion of the <br />entire metro area financing that development; there is a group forming up to <br />lobby against that financing method and they may be approaching ~sey in the <br />near future for financial support in that ldnbying effort. <br /> <br />Mayor Bet~an stated that he will be ~mble to attend the meeting on September <br />18 with Representatives Hartinger and Schrieber but he and Mr. Schnelle will <br />pretare a letter regarding R~sey's oonoerns. <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Gox stated that he has received c~m~ents indicating that l~sey's <br /> September 10, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 10 of 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
