Lee Johnson <br />Dr, Duane gennen <br /> <br />(l~airman Paterson called the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning <br />Oom%ission to order at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Roger Bemanson - 15115 Garnet St. N~ - Stated that on Septimt>er 10, 1984, <br />this Planning O~ssion denied Waste Nanageraent's request for an expansion <br />permit and be feels that this mining permit falls into the same category. <br /> <br />fhairman Paterson replied that the (kmmdssipn's action at that time was in <br />regards tm expansion and this request for a mining permit is not an expansion. <br /> <br />Oammissioner Dc=per stated that the mining permit is to excavate dirt for <br />cover at the existing landfill. <br /> <br />City Attorney (~xxlrich stated that legally speaking, the Oa~ssion, in it's <br />decision making process, must divorce the intended use rrm, the act of <br />extraction. <br /> <br />Douglas Fountain - 15255 Carnet St - Stated that this request for a mini~ <br />permit by Waste Mana~mm_nt is essentially another form of a conditional use <br />permit wich will allow r~val of soil from one area to cover waste at the <br />landfill site. Even tboixlh a mining permit will not expand the landfill <br />acreage wise, Naste #anagement will be acootmpIishing what they £equested in <br />~ of 1984 and %ere 61enied in Septfs~ber of 1984.
