Mr. Otter explained that Ommty ordinance requires 5 <br />years closure and 5 years l~st closure and it is possible that this ordinance <br />will be ~mer~led to extel~ closure/post closure an additional 10 years. Under <br />these circumstances, llr. Otter explained that Waste Management could r-.~'~fl fill <br />material off of the subject property until the year 2005. <br /> <br />Pit. St~xler - 15235 Garnet St - Inqui reft as to what percent of the fill to be <br />mined will be used to extend the life of the landfill and what percent will be <br />used for closure/post closure. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter replied that be can't answer Mr. Studer's question; that there is r~ <br />way to estimate just what improvements are going to have to be ma~e ~o the <br />site. [ir. Otter stated that he is a~are that this soil borro~ plan in no way <br />constitutes a fornal expansion of the lanclfill. <br /> <br />(]~airman Peterson stated that the fill is required and Waste Manag~nent will <br />9et from this subject piece of property or have tn haul it in from ~here <br />else. <br /> <br />Mr. Studer inquired if the fill ~ill serve a (I-,al purpose; to cover existing <br />materials at the landfill and extend the life of the landfill. <br /> <br />Ptr. Otter replied that the fill will only be used to place the proper ~unt <br />of cover on materials received at the landfill. ~his does not extend the 1if <br />of the landfill; it is lxoviding the soil (x)ver r~oes~ to achieve what <br />Waste Ranageu~.nt has a permit to bring in. <br /> <br />Page 4 o~ 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
