This access road will preclude the movement of heavy earthmoving equipment on Sunfish L~ke Blvd. An on-site water truck will be used to water the access road as needed during mining activities %o keep do~ dust due to equipment use. Mining in the South B0 Borrow Area will begin in Phase I in the north central portion of the site and progress to the west as shown on Drawing No. 13647.58E-2. Topsoil stripped from this phase will be stockpiled on existing stockpiles in the vicinity of the Anoka Sanitary Landfill. Soil will then be removed from Phase ! on an as needed basis until the base grade elevation has been attained. All side slopes within Phase I, both final and temporary, have been specified at a maximum of 4:1. Phase II construction will begin with topsoil stripping. Stripped topsoil will be placed on top of the area excavated in Phase I that will not be disturbed during subsequent phase construction. The topsoiled a~ea will then be graded, seeded, and fertilized to promote turf development, and thereby minimize surface and wind erosion. Soil from Phase II will then be removed on an as needed basis until the base grade elevation has been reached, maintaining maximum side slopes of ~:1. Subsequent phases will be developed in the same fashion. Topsoil needed to restore Phase X will be obtained from existing stockpiles in the South Borrow Area. SOIL VOLUME AVAILABLE With a minimum base grade elevation of 867 feet, 673,000 cubic yards of ~eneral earth fill including topsoil can be removed from the South B0 Borrow Area. Considering that 26,000 cubic yards of topsoil will be used to restore the borrow area, a total of 647,000 cubic yards of general earth fill are available for borrow. DRI~I N AGE Natural berms developed as part of the mining process around the entire South 80 Borrow Area will prevent off-site drainage from occurring. These terms will ~ontain surface ~unoff within the borrow area and not allow runoff to flow into the wetlands adjacent to the site. Due to the coarse, well drained nature of the soils in the South 80 Borrow Area, surface ~unoff will rapidly infiltrate through the soils, therefore minimizing any ponding both during excavation and after restoration.
