I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Donald L. Otter
~e~eral Manager o~ l. andfills
Omega Mills l~ndfill
De~ember ~, ~98~
~age 3

COST OF RESTORATION

~estoration for the South BO Borrow Area will consist of grading, topsoil place-
ment, seeding, and fe{tilizing. The cost of grading and topsoil placement
typically is $1.50/yd~. Assuming a four inch topsoil layer, the oust for
grading and topsoil placement would be approximately $800.00 per acre. The
typical cost for seeding, and fertilizing, is approximately $1,000.00 per acre.
Therefore, the total cost of restoration would be $1,800.00 per acre.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

Mining in the South 80 Borrow Area is planned so as not to be harmful or
injurious to the health and welfare of the general public. All side slopes have
been designe~ at a maximum slope of 4:1. No shear cuts should exist at any time
during the life of the borrow area.

We are confident that the proposed borrow and restoration plan for the South 80
area will meet the approval of the City. Please contact us if we can be of
further assistance to you.

Very truly yours,

FOTH & VAN DYKE Industrial, Inc.

evick, P.E.
Assoclat%
General Manager, Waste/Energy Division

JWS:smb

CC:

Terry Miller, WMMI - w/enclosure
Henry A.
