I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />February 7, 1985 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and Council Men,hers <br /> <br />FROM: City Staff <br /> <br />RE: Status of County Road 116 R~ River Crossing <br /> <br />As you know, the Anoka County Co~niss]on adopted a resolution <br />January 15, 1985 in support of federal funding for the extension <br />of County Road 116 across the R~ River. ~his resolution was <br />provided to the cities of Ramsey, Anoka, Andover, Coon Rapids, <br />and Champlin. ~hese cities were requested to endorse the <br />County's resolution or adopt comparable resolutions by February <br />20, 1985. <br /> <br />Tim Yantos, Deputy County A~inistrator, stated that the County <br />is committed to this project, however, there are not sufficient <br />resources locally to fund it. Consequently, the County is <br />sending representatives (including (k)mmissioner Raas) to <br />Washington, D.C. to request Federal funding for this project. <br /> <br />Bill Suronen, County Engineer's office, stated that the <br />consultant has started drafting plans for the project. ~ese <br />plans should be completed later this year. ~e project has a 2 <br />year estimated oonstruction period. Ass~ing that the County <br />receives Federal funds, it is expected that actual construction <br />can commence sometime in 1986. <br /> <br />If the County is not successful in obtaining Federal funds for <br />the completion of County Road 116, the Board will consider <br />alternative ways to finance the project. <br /> <br /> <br />
