I
I
I
I

CASE #8:

I
I
I
I
I
I

~ASE #9:

It is the Staff's opir~ion that the City Council should establish such
a committee using the concerned family members previously mentioned,
one Councilmernber and any clergy from the local churches that would
participate.

~ouncil Acttonl

Your action will be to direct Staff on how you would like to proceed
with this matter as well as to establish the committee if you so
desire.

~HARTER COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS:

At their meeting of February ~?, 1985, the City Council requested the
Charter Commission review several areas of the Charter and report
back to the City Council· Those areas included but were not limited
to the reading of resolutions, precinct liaisons and Chapter 8 as it
compares to State Statute #429.

In reviewing the Commission meeting minutes which are included under
notes from boards and commissions, we can only conclude that no
changes are recommended at this time for the reading of resolutions,
and that special assessments not be considered for chan~e until a
public hearing advertised in the newsletter is held.

Ir~ the area of incompatible offices, you should draw your own
conclusions. It does not appear that the issue of precinct liaison
meetings was discussed.

Council Action:

No actior~ is required, as the City Council cannot make Charter
amendments without Charter Co,mission recommendations.

APPOINTMENT OF MR. TOM KURAK TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION:

At their March 13, 1985 meeting, the Economic Development Commission
recommended that Mr. Tom Kurak be appointed to replace Mr. Stephen
Schmidt (resignation effective March 13, 1985).

Council Action:

Your action will be to approve the appointment of Mr. Tom Kurak to
the Economic Development Commission.
