The soil is usually water logged during the gro~ing sea- son~ often it is covered with as much as 6" or more of water. Vegetation includes grasses, bulrushes, spikerushes and various other marsh plants such as cattails, arrow- heads and ~mart weed. Inland Deep Fresh Marsh. The soil is covered with 3 to 6 feet or more of water during the gr~ing season. Vegetation includes cattails reeds, bulrushes, spikerushes and wild rice. Inland Open Fresh Marsh. Shallow ponds and reservoirs are included in this type. Water is usually less than 10 feet deep and is fringed by a border of emergent vegetation. Vegetation includes pond weeds, wild celery, coon tail, muskgrasses, water lilies and spatterdocks. Type VI. Shrub Swamps. The soil is usually water logged during the growing season and is often covered with as much as 6 inches of water. Vegetation includes alders, willows, dogwoods and swamp-lx ivet. ~.
