Raatikka
Hankanson Anderson Associates, Inc.
222 Monroe Street
Anoka, MN 55303

Dear Mr. Raatikka:

Thank you for letting the Environmental Quality Board (EQB)
comment on the proposed Environmental Protection Ordinance
before the City of Ramsey officially submits the ordinance
for review.

Based on discussions with staff of the Metropolitan
Council, there appears to be only a few minor
difficulties. The trail corridor should be increased in
width to six feet for safety and compatibility with county
and state standards. Also, a map should be included
indicating the location of the proposed regional trail
corridor. Finally, the Urban Developed District boundary
should coincide with the Urban Service District boundary
and also be indicated on a map.

If these changes are incorporated into the ordinance, we
can foresee no problems concerning EQB approval and
subsequent adoption by the City.

Sincerely,

Rand Kluegel, Coordinator
Critical Areas Program

cc: Anne Norris

&\ IQ)t &l (.)t'P(.)RII.'NII'~ f%~l'l()Y[R
