I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

TO:

FROM:

RE:

DATE:

City Administrator

Director of Technical Services

Permit costs for on-site septic systems

May 16, 1985

As per your request, I hereby submit the following in response to the letter
you received from Rodney Caouette:

In checking with surrounding communities, I found that permit fees for on-site
septic systems vary from $]2.50 at Elk River to $75.00 in Dayton. The $12.50
in Elk River is for repairs only and the cost for new construction is $50.00.
Andover charges $25.00.

While $50.00 is a substantial fee for a repair permit, I feel it should not be
changed, because in many cases our costs are that much due to the need of
reviewing the job with the installer prior to construction. Further, we are
comparable with adjoining communities.
