Fish and #ildlife <br /> <br /> classification ,ystem for wetlands and cur. rent:ly te- <br />l quires a permit for alteration of wetlan~ types 3-5 <br /> wM~ ~e 2.5 seres or later. <br /> <br />I Wetland types 1, 2 and $ and wetlands as m~all as one <br /> acre ~e reo~gnized as h,ving importance as storm sewer <br /> ponding basins, but the DNR does not presently require <br /> <br />"I <br /> ! <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> <br />permits for alteration of the~e areas. <br /> <br />In Ramsey, there is an abundance of wetlands, some <br />found along the edges of the streams and rivers and <br />the others in upland depressional areas. The wetlands <br />are not concentrated in one area, but rather scatered <br />throughout the o~ty. All Type 3, 4 and 5 wetlands <br />of 2.5 acres or more as referenced in Section 170.012B <br />of this Chapter have been mapped by the DNR and Anoka <br />Oounty and shall be identified on the offical environ- <br />mental map referenoed in Section 170.012B of this chapter. <br />A colby of the Public Waters/Wetlands map as prepared by <br />Anoka County is on file at the City offices and is <br />hereby adopted as part of this ordinance. This <br />ordinance shall apply to an impact area within 50 feet <br />of all Type 3, 4, and 5 Wetlands and Types 1, 2, and <br />6 Wetlands one acre in size or larger. <br /> <br />Shoreland Overlay District: In order to guide the wise <br />develolmmnt and utilization of shorelands of protected <br />waters for the preservation of water quality, natural <br />characteristics, economic values and the general <br />health, safety and welfare, certain protected waters <br />in the City have been given a shoreland management <br />classification. <br /> <br />~ese Ixotected waters of the City have been classified <br />by the Commissioner of Natural Resources as follows: <br /> <br />Natuxal Environment Lakes <br /> <br />1) Shack Eddy 2-109 <br />2) Itasca 2-110 <br />3) Rogers 2-104 <br /> <br />Recreational Development Lakes <br /> <br />1) Jeglens Marsh 2-111 <br />2) Pelt=er Pond 2-112 <br />3) Grass (Sunfish) 2-113 <br /> <br />Ordinanoe ~85-2 <br /> <br /> -- ~ -- <br /> <br /> <br />
