Moersfelder: <br /> <br />June 20, 1985 <br /> <br />Reference is mode to your recent request to lift the development limitation <br />on a portion of Inventory Site P. <br /> <br />Our review of this request with our consultant has identified several <br />questions. In order to permit the fairest possible evaluation of this request <br />by the County, we would appreciate it if you would provide us with some <br />additional information. These areas of concern are os follows: <br /> <br />The quantity of soil needed for doily cover seems to be too high <br />for the amount of fill capacity remaining. Please provide <br />information identifying how this figure was determined. <br /> <br />The proposed excavation in the "South 80 Borrow" oreo may <br />encroach within $ feet of the highest known water table. Soil <br />borings (to identify mottled soils and water table measurements in <br />the southerly portion of the "South 80 Borrow" oreo should be <br />provided. <br /> <br />If Site P were selected for development, the proposed excavation <br />elevations in the "South 80 Borrow" area may be too deep for the <br />construction of liners, leochote collection and liner monitoring <br />systems. Without a specific design concept, it is not possible to <br />determine jf the proposed elevations are acceptable. Please <br />provide information concerning possible Site P development <br />concept that would support such elevations and would provide for <br />the construction and proper operation of liners, leachate <br />collections, and liner monitoring systems. <br /> <br />You indicate in your request that sufficient soils would remain on <br />the site, after removal of soils from the "South 80 Borrow" area, <br />for the operation of a landfill at Site P.
