Motion by Om~issioner Hardin and seconded by __cc~m_ issioner Wagner to ~end the motion r~ng Co~cil endorse the Airport Master Plan by including that the endorsement provide for a reassessment of site locations and pursuing participation with other cities. Further Discussion: C~mmissioner Ve~ea stated that studying other sites has already been done in Ramsey; the City is at a point now of making a decision as to whether or mot to continue to study this p~rticular location; the a~endment on the floor would reverse progress. ~end~ent failed. Voting Yes: Commissioners Wagner and Hardin. Commissioners DeLuca, Fults, Kurak, Vevea and Muller. Abstain: Greenberg. Absent: (Ix~missioner Miller. YoUng No.. Chairman Motion by Om~issioner DeLuca and seconded by Om~issioner Kurak to amend the motion ream~ending co~cil endorse the Airport Master Plan by including a request that co~cil consider requiring that the Plan researc~ the possibility of other city participation. Further Discussion: Commissioner Fults stated that he would be in favor of sending a letter to the Airport (km~ission requesting that they pursue the possibility of other city pmrticip~tion. Mr. Jack Ippel stated that pursuing other city participation is really a responsibility of the Airport (lm~ission. ;~endment carried. Voting Yes: Co~missioners Wagner, Kurak, Vevea and Muller. Mr. Ippal stated that the intent of the Airport (~ission, in their recu~mendation that a tax incre~.nt project area be established consisting of the industrial park and land that would be acquired for airport development, was to insure that tax increment dollars from that area would be available for airport develoll~ent should the airport be(x~e a municipal facility. ~hose tax increment dollars would not be restricted to airport develoIm~.nt and could be used for sewer and water, for instanoe, if the airport did not be(x~e a reality.
