Mr. Ippel requested that the Eoono~ic D~velo~ment (~is$ion pass <br />a motion enoouraging the City Oouncil to endorse the Airport Master Plan and <br />proceed with the next Dbase of the study. <br /> <br />~he (km~ission discussed certain aspects of the Airport Master Plan, i.e., <br />develolm~nt and maintenance costs to the City, economic benefits, alternative <br />sites. <br /> <br />Motion by Om~issioner Vevea and seconded by Oa~issioner Fults to recommend <br />that City (b~cil endorse the Airport Master Plan. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Cc~missio~er Hardin expressed concern with the cost to the <br /> <br />i City for airport develo~ent versus the actual affect airport develolm~nt will <br /> have on eoon~ic develoIm~nt; possibly those dollars would be better spent <br /> developing the industrial park with sewer and waters; not opposed to the <br /> <br /> airport but maybe there is a better location that would ~ot involve mo~ing <br />I residences; the possibility of a joint airport develolm~nt with Anoka and Elk <br /> River should be pursued. Mr. Ip~el stated that Anoka and Elk River have <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />expressed an interest in what happens in Ramsey with respect to the airport; <br />the time to get those cities involved is when R~sey has an endorsed Airport <br />Master Plan. Mr. Ippel stated that with r~ more gr~th in Ra~sey, the <br />d~velot~.nt costs would amount to $11/ho~sehold/year a~d $55/k~tsiness/year. <br />Mr. DeLuca referred to information contained in the September 3, 1985 Airport <br />(km~ission minutes fr~ Kathy Robinson regardir~ real estate sales in the <br />vicinity of the airport and stated that he knows the h~e at 7440 152nd Lane <br />was on the market for two years with different realtors and the original asking <br />price was close to $69,000. <br /> <br />(~airman Greenber9 temporarily tabled the vote on the motion mtil after the <br />O0mmission had an opportunity to discuss Case %4 of the a~enda. <br /> <br />Mr. Ippel r~ted that the er~or~t of the Airport Master Plan is a vehicle to <br />4o further stufies; it doem't mn an airport will developed on that sie. <br /> <br />~eptember 11, 1985 <br /> <br />Pac~e 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
