Mr. Daniel A. Comeau
September 2!~, ]gF~~,
Page lwelv(,

Moni to_r_!n_g- Well Saint/Ii_!9_9

34.

P_~Q~Qes 17-]8. Groundwater Sampling Event No. ] was conducted on July 22-26,
On AuguSt 28-30, the second water quality sampling event was conducted.
Samples from both sampling events were analyzed using Method 624.
Additionally, those wells which showed evidence of measurable quantities
of water quality parameters were analyzed by Method 465 during the second
sampling event.

Non-volatile parameter testing is being conducted during each water
quality sampling event. Typical parameters associated with landfills,
such as those parameters listed on Page A6 of "Procedures for Groundwater
Monitoring: Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Guidlines" April 1985 have
been included. Additional parameters required under provisions of the
Anoka County operational permit have also been included. This data is
being compiled and evaluated as part of the on-going internal analysis
of available data.

The QA/QC Plan for Water Sampling and Analysis will be updated and
provided to MPCA in October (see Response No. 39).

Five surface water locations are monitored for water quality parameters.
The surface water locations are SW-1, SW-2, SW-3A, SW-4, and SW-5
(see Table 6 of the Evaluation Report). Location SW-3 is located in the
same wetland as SW-3A. Location SW-3 was used as a water level
measurement point because of its accessibility and ability to monitor
potential fluctuations in water level. SW-3A is used as a water quality
sampling point only and was designated by MPCA staff while on-site.

All on-site groundwater monitoring wells have been sampled during Sampling
Event No. 1 (July 22-26) and Sampling Event No. 2 (August 28-30). It is
possible that some of the groundwater monitoring wells may be deleted from
the proposed Water Sampling Event No. 3. This potential action will be
determined after results from Water Sampling Event No. 2 have been
received and evaluated. It is anticipated that discussions will take
place with MPCA staff and that a proposed modification to the monitoring
well sampling program will be documented and submitted to the MPCA before
Sampling Event No. 3 is instituted.

Records Search

35.

~ages 18-19. Preliminary records search information is included in the
Evaluation Report. An on-going records search is currently being
conducted. The records search has involved public documents (City of
Anoka, Anoka County, City of Ramsey, Metropolitan Council, and MPCA) and
