I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Case #2: Lutheran Brotherhood Grant and Fundraising~Att~mpts:

Two unsuccessful attempts to match the Lutheran Brotherhood Crant were
discussed. The committee in charge of the fundraising were unaware
of all the ground~rules involved, except for Arnie Cox who had met
with A1Steinbre~r and discussed the rules but had failed to
pass
them on to the rest of the committee.

Claudia and Marlene brought up the outstanding bills and unaccounted
for monies from ticket sales. It was also brought up that Kathy
McKnight may have some of the money as well as the Ramsey Lions.
Also mentioned was the fact that the Ramsey Lions agreed to donate
the boat and trailer. Claudia said that Kathy McKnight thought
Dale McKusik may have the entry fees from the teams in the first
event. Chairman Donovan briefly went over some of the ground rules
requiring a community effort for a fund raiser as well as the
advertising requirements.

Chairman Donovan said he would make some calls and get the situation
straightened out so the outstanding bills could be paid.

Case #3: Informational;

1)

Lawson/LCMR Funding - Chairman Donovan stated according to letter
from the Dept. of Energy and Economic Development, Ramsey had
again been denied any funds. He also said the Metro Council was
revising their formula but as of now the location of rural parks
was a major problem in getting funding and that they should not
expect much funding assistance as the council felt most of the
burden should fall with the municipalities. Chairman Donovan
said he was going to check into the revised formula more care-
fully.

2)

Lighting Study for Central Park - Chairman Donovan felt it would
be a good idea to get started this fall so the fields would not
be all torn up this spring when the kids want to use them. He
also said they had looked at some of the concret~ poles Mr. Cox
had in mind and felt they were of a good quality. Mr. Cox is
investigating prices with the possibility of substituting the
concrete poles for the wooden poles if the price is better.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
