Approximately 25 people attended this tour. The Commission also introduced the Ra~sey EconoKic Development Company (the local development c~rp~ny to assist in eoon~ic develoI~ent activities in the City) at the tour. A subcomwittee of the Commission is continuing to research oosts and possible financing for requests from Mate and Sauter for the extension of public improve~ents to that part of the City. The Commission also met with the City Council on October 15 to discuss a possible process for handling requests for financial assistance within the City's tax increment project area (the request freer M & $ Develo~ent triggered this). Planning and Zoning Commission: The Plannin9 and Zoning Commission has o0~pleted their review of the zoning ordinance and a draft of the recodification is complete. The Commission will hold a joint work session with the City Council to review this draft on Tuesday, Nov~rber 19. The Commission reviewed the existing zoning ordinance with respect to accessory structure regulations and has recommended several changes. These changes will be presented to the City Council at their October 22 meeting. Tax Increment Financing: As the Council requested, I have been working on a draft of an application process for requests for financial assistance frc~ the City for projects within the City's tax incr~ent ~xoject area. ~e Council and Econo~ic Development (k~ission met to discuss this on October 15 and have developed Fuch of the process, but I a~ in the process of obtaining some Fore technical information they requested. Other: Based on the Landfill Cozmittee's recommendations and City Council action, I sn~itted a landfill abatement plan to the County as required by State law. The Council will be provided with a copy of this plan at their October 22 meeting. Also, I have been inforFed that the North Metro Traffic Task Force will resume meeting and working in early Nov~rber. I am hopeful that the Task Force will be able to identify potential bridge based on traffic projections being run by MnDOT and Metropolitan Council.
