Voting yes: Voting no: Request for Reconsideration of Variance for Accessory Structure Laroer than Allowed by City Code; Case of Mr. and Mrs. Stev~nJohnson: I I I I I I I I I I I On July 23, 1985, the City Council considered and denied a request by Mr. and Mrs. Steven Johnson for a variance to construct an accessory structure larger than allowed by City Code. On August 27, 1985, the Johnsons requested that the Council reconsider their decision based on similar requests that had been approved in their neighborhood. The Council tabled action on this request pending review of the City (kx]e by the Planning and Zoning Cxm~rission. The Johnsons are requesting to construct a 1,280 square foot structure to be used for the storage of personal property. The current ordinance allows a waxim~ area of 624 square feet. The Johnsons have stated that they would consider limiting their structure to 1,000 square feet. The Johnson's request for a 1,000 square foot acoessory structure appears to be consistent with the proposed a~er~ent to the City Code which would allow a total area of any garage and accessory structure of 1,664 square feet.
