4:
Matthew Petitclair i
9111 Muirfield Cir NW
Ramse , MN 55303
p
December 7, 2016
City Council
City of Ramsey
Anoka County, Minnesota
i
PUBLIC COMMENT ON DOMESTICATED ANIMAL LICENSE FOR
15830 ANDRIE STREET
I am writing in response to the City's request for public comment on the subject
license which will be discussed at the Council meeting on December 13, 2016.
My residence is located across the street (Muirfield Circle) and immediately North
of the Harer's residence. I was totally unaware of the presence of the animal until
k'
recently when the issue was raised. In fact, to this day I have never seen,
smelled or heard anything to alert me to the presence of said pig.
Consequently, I have no objection to the presence of ONE potbelly pig in my
neighbor's home. Furthermore, I can see no basis for anyone else to object
based on an objective assessment of the current situation.
You should be aware of an ongoing disagreement of epic proportions between
the Harers and the Northfork Homeowners Association Board of Directors
regarding the presence of chickens at this property. To date, this conflict has
involved personal acrimony, lawyers, contact with the Ramsey Police, surveys,
neighborhood-wide mailings, and door-to-door campaigning. Nevertheless, to
my knowledge, the Harers are in compliance with applicable Ramsey ordinances
on the raising of chickens. Consequently, my advice to the Council is to stay as .
far away from the Great Northfork Chicken Debate as possible. But you should
consider how this other matter may color the comments of some Northfork
e
residents, especially the Board Members.
Please feel free to contact me directly if there are any comments or questions.
Yours Truly,
i
i
