y
Chris Anderson
From:
Sent: Thursday, December 01, 2016 9:06 AM
To: Kurt Ulrich; Ramsey Planning; Chris Anderson; Mark Kuzma; Sarah Strommen;John
LeTourneau; Kristine Williams;Jill Johns; Mark Kuzma; Melody H. Shryock; Chris Riley
Subject: City of Ramsey request
Regarding the request for a Non-Traditional Domesticated Animal License for raising a potbelly pig on
15830 Andrie Street NW, Lot 4, Block 4 Northfork Links Addition, Anoka County, Ramsey, Minnesota
• This property is zoned 1A- residential homestead and is not zoned agriculture.
• This property does not meet the proper size restrictions for a pig, which according to the City of Ramsey is larger
than 3 acres.
• This is opening a 'Pandora's box", who knows what they or someone else well want a variance for next.
• This would set a precedent that is totally against the essence of a residential neighborhood.
• Northfork HOA development has specific rules against farm animals. HOA rules can be more stringent but not
less stringent than a Cities ordinances.
• City of Ramsey approval of this would not supersede the rules of the HOA and for that reason alone, the City of
Ramsey should NOT even consider this request.
• If a farm type environment is what a particular person is interested in, then they should move to a farm type
community. NOT a residential, golf course community.
• Living on a 'wooded' lot should not be an exception, since 6-7 months of the year, the lot is not shielded by
foliage, and is completely beside the point in any case.
• Having people act first and THEN ask for forgiveness and claim ignorance is improper. (i.e.; housing a farm
animal for a year, against City code and HOA rules and then applying for a variance after the fact)
We are against the City of Ramsey City Council approving or even considering approving this request.
Warm Regards
Grant and Korrine Rademacher
