That the Pig and chickens each have a structure (coop) for shelter and those structures are <br /> located within a brown, chain-link fence enclosure and have an exterior finish of T 1-11 <br /> cedar siding that is painted to match the home on the Subject Property. <br /> 11. That the Applicant also has two(2) outdoor cats and three (3)rabbits that also reside within <br /> this enclosure space, as well as one (1) dog that resides in the home, for a total of fifteen <br /> (15) animals on the Subject Property. <br /> 12. That per City Code Section 10-1 and based on the size of the Subject Property, the <br /> Applicant would be eligible to maintain up to thirty-two (32) chickens. <br /> 13. That while City Code Section 10-1 attempts to assign `animal units' to various types of <br /> animals based on size and waste production, pot-bellied pig is not specifically listed nor <br /> assigned an animal unit value. <br /> 14. That based on information provided by the Applicant and a cursory review of information <br /> by Staff,this animal may be comparable to a medium to large dog in terms of size and waste <br /> produced. <br /> 15. That all parcels in the City of Ramsey are eligible to maintain up to three (3) dogs without <br /> the issuance of a Private Kennel License. <br /> 16. That Ramsey City Code does not specify a maximum number of cats or rabbits permitted <br /> on a parcel. <br /> 17. That the Subject Property is heavily wooded and the enclosure area and structures for the <br /> Pig and chickens are well screened from the public road and the two(2)abutting properties. <br /> 18. That based on the size of the Subject Property, a maximum of three (3) detached accessory <br /> buildings, not exceeding more than 2,400 square feet in area, are permitted. <br /> 19. That there are two (2) detached accessory structures on the Subject Property, the chicken <br /> coop (128 square feet) and the Pig shelter (sixteen [16] square feet), totaling 144 square <br /> feet. <br /> 20. That the Applicant has received a letter from the HOA attorney, as did all homeowners <br /> within Northfork, outlining what the HOA considers to be violations of their private <br /> covenants on the Subject Property. <br /> 21. That the Applicant sent a written correspondence to the HOA attorney, and all homeowners <br /> within Northfork, outlining their responses to the HOA attorney's letter. <br /> 22. That the Applicant has provided nine (9) surveys completed by other property owners <br /> within the neighborhood indicating that they do not consider the Pig as a nuisance and that <br /> they do not object to the Pig being maintained on the Subject Property. <br /> RESOLUTION #16-12-240 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br />
