ORS Ado~?t.s Unif_o_rm~Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures on August 25, 1978, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Justice and the Department of labor jointly published Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures in the _F_e_de~r_al Re~g]ster, beginning at page 38290 of Volume 43. These Guidelines, the product of six years of effort, are intended to establish a uniform Federal position in the area of prohibiting discrimi- nation in employee selection on grounds of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Treasury Department agrees that the Federal Government should speak with one voice on the important subject of equal employment opportunity and, therefore, we published in the Federal Register on Monday, Septelnber ll, 1978, on page 40223 an amendment to our revenue sharing regulations adopting the Uniform Guidelines for use in enforcement of tl~e nondiscrimination provisions of the Revenue Sharing Act as amended. Because the Uniform Guidelines contain specific, technical records- keeping and other requirements which are particularly applicable to. employers of more than 100 employees, we plan to mail a copy of the Guidelines in the near future to all recipient governments in this category.
