(Petition will be available for your review): <br /> <br />Brookview Estates has'a total of 34 units. The petition con- <br />tained a total of 23 signatures. In checking the assessing <br />book, there were 27 units with homes and 7 without. Figuring <br />all the units against the total signatures there was a total <br />of 67%, however in figuring just resident owners against the <br />total signatures it came out to be 82% in favor. <br /> <br />Please refer to Exhibit #1 on left. side of folder. <br /> <br />REZONING REQUEST IN TRANSITIONAL AREA FROM R-1 TO I-1 CASE OF <br />JACK MENKVELD: The location of' the above rezoning request is <br />that part of the NE~ of the NW~4 Section 29 Township 32 Range 25 <br />lying northerly of the railroad right-of-way and also that part <br />of the South ½ of the N~P~ of the NE¼, Section 29, Township 32, <br />Range 25 lying northerly of the railroad right-of-way. <br /> <br />Background: Mr. ~nkveld appeared before the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission on October 16, 1978 and they recommended dis- <br />approval of his request for rezoning. Please refer to enclosure <br />(B-i) this agenda. Further for your information please refer <br />to enclosure (D2-a). <br /> <br />Comments: Mr. Menkveld has asked for a public hearing but I in- <br />form'ed him that maybe he should first appear before the Council <br />to get their feeling on it. However, prior to any action by the <br />Council, Council will first have to order a public hearing on it. <br /> <br /> <br />
