9/5/78 <br /> <br /> Mr. Wurm: Asked Rev. Reed if this was going to be the base for the <br /> Baptist Church of Minneaota and who is listed as owner of the property. <br /> <br /> Rev. Meed: Faith B~ptist of Ramsay is owner? <br /> <br /> Wurm: Why ~s the property in the name of August Schmitz an5 off the tax <br /> roles? <br /> <br /> Rev. Reed: The church is owned by Faith Baotist of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mrs. Reed: Stated that at all the meetings she attended in the past, it <br />was never said that they would live there. They have their ov, m home else- <br />where. <br /> <br />Reinhold Peltzer: Under the Constitution, they cannot stop a church from <br />being in their neighborhood. <br /> <br />Ken Paterson asked for further testimomy. <br /> <br />Rev. Reed: Their only intention is to help and that he has a P.H.D. in <br />psychology and has help chemically dependent children. Also, he would <br />like to apologize for the actions of the membar that had bothered the <br />~eighbors, and that they have no intentions of degrading surrounding <br />property. <br /> <br />Spah: Feels other areas better suited for a church. <br />Public Hearing closed 9:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson exolained that the Commission had thirty days to make a <br />decision and feels there are additional items which will require further <br />checking. <br /> <br />The architect presented a second plan for the site calling for the new <br />church to be built directly behind the house with modifying present <br />structure for a total seating cap&city of :1~04 <br /> <br />Haugtvedt: Asked architect if he was aware of the water problems on the <br />property. <br /> <br />Art Dunm: It would have to be determined if soils were suitable for <br />such facilities, and would like perk tests, soil borings, screening plans, <br />and elevations, plus calculations of storm water runoff from parking lot. <br /> <br />Brad .Bodle: With so many opmosed to porject, Commission has to research <br />and consider an enviromental impact study, plus consult the City Attorney. <br />City Engineer could provide input on enviromental impact. <br /> <br />Rom West: Agrees with previous comments and would like to be able to <br />view the pro-'~erty and area personally, so .needs additional time. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was that more time is needed before a <br />decision is made. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson: Bond to cover legal and engineer fees? <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle: Yes, approximately ~500o <br /> <br />Longfield: ~2000 bond has already been posted. <br />Kathy Schneider: Is the g~OOO.bond the same as 2he fee for costs? <br />Lloyd Schnelle: No, g500 cash must be presented on this project only. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson: Asked Rev. Reed if he can obtain the necessary information <br />in th~.rty days? Also asked if the Rev. understands the ~500 cost? <br /> <br /> <br />
