Miller said contractors can vary 25 percent, he would like to see a <br />comparison, if drainage is a problem etc. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said this will not be done to solve the drainage, only <br />minor drainage. <br /> <br />Council took a hand count vote and the majority of persons from Greenland <br />Hills Addition were in favor of the project. <br /> <br /> Total Cost Total Units Cost Per'Unit Annual Unit Cost 7~10 yr, 15 ..vt, <br /> <br /> ¢'112,800 113 998 .~142 ~10 <br /> <br /> Howard Carson, 15420 Kangaroo asked if the projects are designed so that <br /> they can be combined with the same contractor and will this lower unit cost. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said he has combined all of them in one project with <br /> separate bid areas for each project. <br /> <br />D. ~rtin, Whispering Pines - Is there going to be any better material for <br />traffic on the heavier travelled areas? <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka answered, no, only your major City thorough_fares. <br /> <br />D. Martin - I don't feel this will last, if this is approved by 35 percent <br />of people and somebody else gota petition of 65 percent, ~ill that override? <br /> <br />Councilman Gamex explained that final approval comes from the Council based <br />on the initial petition and public response. <br /> <br />Howard Carson said that better than 65 percent of the people indicated they <br />wanted the roads in Whispering Pines. <br /> <br />Will Dane, 1 52nd Avenue asked how the boundaries were set up for Whispering <br />Pines. <br /> <br />l,~yor Cox explained that they are different plats put in by developers. <br /> <br />Greg Smith, 153rd said we would have to have drainage, he doesn't want to pay <br />taxes, maintenance, etc., for these roads and he feels all property owners <br />in the City of Ramsey should have a vote on this, <br /> <br />Barb Anderson, 15410 Kangaroo stated school buses won't come down Kangaroo <br />Street because of the holes and mud and the kids have to walk out to 153rd <br />to cdtch their bus. <br /> <br />Duane Davis, 164th Lane asked how maintenance would be less. <br /> <br />Iv~yor Cox said many times when it is too dry to grade properly~ the street <br />department breaks blades and snow plowing is more difficult on 'gravel, whereas <br />the blacktop creates a minimumwear and tear on the~uipment. <br /> <br />Dennis Rohl, 1 52nd Lane - Is it true that all new additions must install blacktop <br />roads? <br /> <br />WHISFLR!NG PIQUES ESTATES <br /> <br /> <br />
