ge 8 <br /> <br />Public Hearing/7-10-78 <br />(Street Petitions) <br /> <br />AZURITE, ZIRCONIUM, YTTRIUM, 162ND AVENUE, 164TH LANE, and 166TH LANE <br /> <br />Tot,1 Cost Total Units Cost Per Unit Annual Unit Cost 7~-10 .Mr. 15 .Mr. <br /> <br /> $79,200 87 $910 $130 $1 O0 <br /> <br />A resident on Yttrium asked if the road could be recentered as it has <br />shifted ~ith grading etc. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said that they will recenter the roads. ~ ~ <br /> <br />Arlan Ross, 16321ZirconiumStreet, asked how do specifications for these <br />roads compare with what is required in the new additions? <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said they are comparable, except for width. <br /> <br />Bob Ilstrup asked, what is the increased value of houses with blacktop <br />roads, would taxes go up or remain the same. <br /> <br />Councilman Muller said he feels that the road will increase the market <br />value of the homes, but doesn't know the affect it would have on taxes, <br />if any. ~ <br /> <br />Gary Martin, 162nd Avenue, asked how a corner lot is assessed. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka replied that it is the same as the interior lots, it is <br />based on total units. <br /> <br />A resident in the audience asked how much it will cost to rip the road up <br />in twenty years. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said that he couldn't give an answer to that at this time. <br /> <br />Richard Soule asked if the figures at this time are an estimate. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka replied, yes, based on existing prices. <br /> <br />Dale Ketchum, 16341Azurite Stree~ stated that this is about 16 p~rcent more <br />than the first time. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka responded that, yes, the prices have gone up that much since <br />then. <br /> <br />Dick Weston asked if the bids come back for more can we say, no, then. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox replied, yes. <br /> <br />Nancy Jensen queried if we are going to take our money and get a more detailed <br />study now. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox explained, the procedure involved in the improvement project. <br /> <br />No f~rther public input received. <br /> <br />A hand count vote taken by Council indicated 24 for and 14 against the project, <br />Azurite, Zirconium, Yttrium, 162nd Avenue, 164th Lane and 166th Lane. <br /> <br /> <br />
