two - Letter to Counc - Sept. 30, 1978

In tho in%crest of neighborhood harmony we respectfully request that you
~o not permit this ]LL-CONC'[:IVED project to proceed. There has not been
sufficient time for everyone to consider the pros and cons. This is a
very fri~ndly and cordial community, ~he best we have ever lived in, and
one of us is a senior citizen. This project would only cause divisiveness
and ill feeling which would far outweigh any benefits it might bring to a
VERY FEW residents with lofty lots and citified ideas who favor it.

ALTE}?].biTI VES

From talks with other residents it appears that a major concsrn of those
favoring the project is the dust from a gravel road. An Alternative to
paving would be to simply oil the gravel surface. That would create no
drainage problem.
Provided out next door neighbors, the Irvine's (Lot 1 Block 1, Itasca Hgt)
approve and further provided that the existing drainage easement along
Hwy 10 is adequate we suggest as an alternatige to burdening our lot with
a fourth easement, that Collins Drive runoff be drained along Beatty St.
to Hwy 10 easement. Or another alternative would be to drain Collins run-
off directly to the Mississippi River across the lot of one of the Itasca
Heights residents who is supposedly going to be benefitted and wants the
project.

We request that no further action be taken on this projest from Oct4 25
to Nov. 3, 1978, during which p~riod we will be unable to defend our
property rights.

Resoectfully subm~_t~t ed

James D.
